
Most sea glass lovers, including me, have a love affair with decorative glass of all kinds. In addition to collecting and displaying sea glass around my home, I also collect all colors of Crackle Glass, Depression Glass and old glass bottles.
So it’s no surprise that I would love to visit Venice, Italy to see where the “world famous” Murano Glass is manufactured on an Island in the Venetian Lagoon. Although the trip is not in the very near future we can still fantasize as armchair travelers by reading this wonderful story about “Italy’s Island of Glass,” courtesy of coastalliving.com.
Put it on the list of things that should be impossible: pieces of glass more than 700 years old. I can’t even keep glasses alive in my kitchen for more than a few seasons. But then that’s why I’ve come to Murano, and to its Glass Museum—to see the possibilities.
