The Healing Properties of Sea Glass
The story of sea glass reminds me of a journey that’s symbolic of renewal and healing. Legions of sea glass converts, including me, feel that a beautiful, well worn piece of sea glass is a testament to strength and survival, something that’s almost spiritual.
Accepting one’s imperfections and believing that persistence and time will smooth and soften them can be compared with how the ocean smooths and softens a jagged piece of glass over a long period of time until it is transformed into a new creation that is more beautiful than before, even with its imperfections that are, somehow, less noticeable.

Another reason why I love sea glass is that it is created by nature. At a time when so much is mass produced, isn’t it more enjoyable to have something that is truly real and one of a kind?

How much fun is it to wonder who might have used this piece of glass or what it used to be? Was your sea glass once part of a Victorian era lady’s perfume bottle or pirate’s flask of gin?
