Do It Yourself Sea Glass Bottles
Contrary to what you may assume, I am not a very "crafty" person and never have been, probably because I have to make mistakes before I learn how to do things properly, I am very picky and fussy about the outcome, and my patience with myself wears thin quickly. Sound familiar? My life and livelihood revolve around my love for sea glass, travelling for sea glass and and sea glass jewelry making, and after almost 10 years in business I have a few things figured out! However, I don't sew, … [Read more...]
Our Love Affair With Coca Cola Sea Glass
Many of the first sea glass shards I discovered were the soft green hues of the once common Coca Cola bottle. The color is still one of my favorites because of its soft, subtle look and its resemblance to the sometimes greenish tinge of ocean waves on a cloudy day. The early Coca Cola bottle with its unique contour shape and raised vertical lines and letters was designed so that it could be identified by its feel, even in the dark! The green color and distinctive bottle shape was first … [Read more...]

Discovered! A New Sea Glass Beach!
Imagine my surprise and delight when I saw this story in the Siberian Times. Yes, Virginia, there is a new sea glass beach and it's in Russia! It's called Glass Bay and is about a 30 minute drive from Vladivostock in the "Russian Far East," on the Pacific side of the country. Truck loads of glass bottles and trash from a nearby porcelain factory were dumped in the ocean at Ussuri Bay and have been transformed into our adored gems of the sea. Enjoy the awesome photos of Russian sea … [Read more...]
