E.T.? Donkey Kong? Elvis? No this is not a trip through memory lane but an interesting travel tale about a museum in Japan dedicated to rock faces. Yes, rocks that look like people faces.
So if you happen to be planning a visit to the land of the rising sun you might want to consider a side trip to Chichibu where you may even be allowed to name your own rock!
In Chichibu, Japan, two hours northwest of Tokyo, there’s an odd museum; perhaps the only one of its kind. It’s called the Chinsekikan (which means hall of curious rocks) and it houses over 1700 rocks that resemble human faces. The museum houses all kinds of jinmenseki, or rock with a human face, including celebrity lookalikes like Elvis Presley.
